Our first event was a panel discussion held on International Women’s Day 2018, in conjunction with Impact Hub Islington, NatCen Social Research and the Authors of the BBC Woman’s Hour Report.

The talk included a candid conversation between Social Researchers from NatCen and Pole Dancers from Persepolis Pole Project, on what it’s like to be a woman in Islington in 2018, and why there is such a negative stigma associated with being a pole dancer in today’s society.

Panelists included:

Rachel Tolzman – 3rd Place – 2018 World Pole Champion, 1st Place – 2017 Miss Pole Dance UK, M.M., Vocal Performance

Julia Griggs and Allison Dunatchik – Joint Authors of the 2017 BBC Woman’s Hour Report

Yasmeen Akthar – Facilitator, Joint CEO of Trust Lab
